We all like to complain about September 1st…

But did you know that our kvetching is actually recognized by the Israeli government?

That’s right!

September 1st is what’s known as a Day of Choice (יום בחירה) in Israeli employment law.

This means that while it counts towards annual used vacation days, if you choose to take it as a day off – your employer cannot stop you.

So whether you throw a party as your kids step on to the school bus for the first time or alternatively try to get the shambles of your life back together, the Israeli government has you covered. 🙂

Enjoy the rest of your summer!
